Leadership and Governance

Leadership is both an art and a science. Gandhi Foundation of USA’s leadership tries to be proactive in setting goals, assisting in the social growth and achieving objective of being the change for ultimate organizational success.

 
Gandhi Foundation USA has been fortunate to receive outstanding leadership from recognized leaders who have exemplified in all spheres of life.

  • GFUSA’s Co-Founding Executive Director, late Giriraj Rao received the 2007 Governor’s Award in Humanities.
  • In 2003, the Co-Founding Chairman of GFUSA, Subash Razdan, was bestowed the US Congress approved Ellis Island Medal of Honor in New York. The President of India has also bestowed him with the Bharitiya Pravasi Samaan Award in 2013. Subash Razdan was invited to speak on Gandhi-King philosophy in Trinidad, West Indies at a ceremony dedicated to restoring ethnic and racial harmony in West Indies; and also at St Louis Museum to pay tributes to Gandhi and King. Razdan has also served as an Attache of India for the 1996 Olympics. City of Sandy Springs has named February 22 as Subash Razdan Day.
  • Executive Director Antony Thaliath is a recipient of Community Service Award from the Indian American Kerala Cultural and Civic Center, New York.
  • Subash Razdan and Antony Thaliath were members of the delegation that accompanied former President Clinton on his five-day goodwill visit to India.
  • Vice Chair, Hon Greg Pridgeon, a former Councilman of the City of Atlanta, has served as the Chief of Staff for Former Mayor of Atlanta Shirley Franklin Director of the Board, Dr Joy Berry has led the Georgia Human Relations commission on matters of preserving civil/human rights and served on the State Board of Education.
  • GFUSA director and an author, Troy Lissimore served as the Superintendent of the National Park Service who provided valuable support and leadership for installing the Gandhi Statue at the King National Historic site.
